Our study group on neuroscience and psychoanalysis initiated its weekly activities on January 2007. It was conceived as a multidisciplinary initiative, therefore it included people coming from other disciplines: two psychiatry residents, a neurologist, a neuropsychologist, and eight psychoanalysts, including two didactic analyst.

The primary objectives of the group are to study intersecting points of neuroscience and psychoanalysis with the goal of enriching our complementary perspectives of how the mind works. We also intend to publish and give lectures with the purpose of stimulating the interest of other psychoanalysts and health professionals in these topics. Finally we are planning to do research on different aspects of this rapidly growing area of knowledge.
