| 11th INTERNATIONAL NEUROPSYCHOANALYSIS CONGRESS, SEATTLE |

‘Ronde’ by Mai-Thu
NEUROPSYCHOANALYTIC PERSPECTIVES ON PLAY
The Educational Day will take place on Friday 23 July 2010; with Karen Gilmore, Yoram Yovell, Oliver Turnbull and Maggie Zellner (5 CME/CPE credits).
Original neuropsychoanalytic research and keynote talks will be presented in the main Congress on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 July (13 CME/CPE credits).
Both events will take place at the University of Washingon in Seattle.

Play has recently emerged (perhaps unexpectedly) as an exciting area of mutual interest for psychoanalysis and the neurosciences. As we gain a better understanding of the neurobiology of play, and its pivotal role in mammalian development and group relations, so we are able to view psychoanalytic observations and theories in a new way ... and then cast this light back onto the neurobiological research.
Keynote speakers include:
Stuart Brown, National Institute for Play, California
Peter Fonagy, University College London
Jaak Panksepp, College of Veterinary Medicine, Washington State University
and
Mark Solms, University of Cape Town
